Really need to blog about these before the end of winter. I haven't worn tights for a few weeks now, because I suffer from bare-legged syndrome; I hate having anything covering my legs (tights, leggings, pants... long johns). But in colder months, these stockings I scored from the folks over at Lela Love are the perfect solution. They come in a variety of "finishes": cooling, moisturizing and slimming, as well as a number of styles, from sheer pantyhose (the ones I test-drove) to regular tights, traditional leggings and funky "fishnets", which is kind of a misnomer, because those ones are actually a sort of floral print.
But onto the review. I thought it strange that a pair of tights could be considered "cooling". BUT THEY WERE. Almost like they slid on with a light breeze wafting between skin and cloth, like your hair-dryer was pumping air in on the cold setting. And though the sheers were definitely just that, they were surprisingly impermeable, even for those of us whose regular manicures are foiled by bowling sessions (putting your fingers in those ball holes is a surprisingly effective way of creating snaggle-nails). Supposedly these micro-capsules filled with minerals that are embedded in the tights pop along your skin to give whichever desired effect is being advertised, which lasts for up to 15 washes. Haven't quite gotten there yet, but I'll keep you posted! Would be keen to try the thicker-stock material to see if the cooling effect is just as noticeable.
